Travelling by Train: The new "Explore Gower" ticket from May 2014
This ticket can only be bought from The National rail station when you purchases your train ticket to Swansea. It permits unlimited bus* travel throughout Swansea AND Gower for £4.50 a day; additionally a 3 day ticket can be bought for £10 again giving unlimited bus* travel for three days in Gower and Swansea. Ideal for a weekend or a short break. This is much cheaper than anything you can buy once you are in Swansea therefore it is well worth getting if you are going to be travelling by bus at all.
*valid on First Cymru bus services.
Busplus tickets are also available with your rail ticket. This costs £2.50* a day, £12.00* a week (longer periods also available) and gives unlimited bus travel in the Swansea (not Gower). You have to say which day/days you want to buy the ticket/s. * Railcard holders get a 1/3 off and children can get it half price day ticket. To show the saving this makes, an all day ticket bought in Swansea costs £4.20 a day**

From the East
Leave the M4 at Junction 42, Swansea Exit.
Follow the dual carriageway, Fabian Way A483, to the city centre, Gower and Mumbles without turning off. As you enter the edge of the city you will pass a large Sainsbury supermarket on the left. Keep going through the Sainsbury’s traffic lights and through 3 more sets of traffic lights.
Passing the Leisure centre on your left, and a multi storey car park on your right, and passing under a pedestrian footbridge and through another smaller set of traffic lights, after which the road widens to 4 lanes and you will see a large Tesco supermarket on your right. Continue straight ahead and continue through the set of lights (just after Tesco) And through the lights by the Civic Hall on your left .
Now you will see the sea on your left and a row of guest houses on your right. We are a red and white building on the right four doors up from the Trafalgar Tavern. And about fifty yards before the Bay View public House.
From the West
Leave the M4 at Junction 47, Swansea Exit.
At the roundabout take the right exit A483 towards Swansea.
Follow the A483 for approx. 2 miles, taking the first exit left at the small roundabout. Go straight on at the next set of lights, passing a large Tesco's store on your right, through another three smaller sets of lights until you come to a major set of traffic lights not long after passing a petrol station situated on your left.
The road splits into 3 lanes at these lights, so you need to get into the third lane in order to turn right onto the A4216 (Station road)- signed posted to the Gower. Go straight over next two junctions. At the next junction the road is a staggered, continue on the A4216 which is centre-right and sign posted to the hospital, and now called Cockett road. Then you get to a mini roundabout, go right, then almost immediately there's another mini roundabout go right again. Down a hill.
Continue straight over a third mini roundabout (still going downhill) Then you get to a junction by the Vivian Public House and a major set of traffic lights. Go straight across the junction into Vivian road (still the A4216). At the end of the road turn left into Sketty Park (still the A4216) heading down hill. At the roundabout take the first left. Passing Singleton hospital on your left. At the end of the road you come to the junction with the main coast road. Turn left into Oystermouth Road. Continue towards the town centre. The sea will be on your right and you will pass the university, then the park, then St Helen's Rugby Cricket ground on your left. You will the see a pub called the Bay View on your left. Followed by a row of guest houses. We are about a hundred yards after the Bay View. Number 364 (a red and white building) just after a vacant plot of land.
