Beach opposite the Beachcomber Guest HouseThere is so much to see and do in Swansea and so many attractions in Swansea . In fine weather it will be difficult to drag yourself from the beautiful beaches of the Gower. Gower was the first area in Great Britain to be designated an area of outstanding natural beauty and as soon as you see it you will understand why. It is a favourite location for walkers and families and offers a perfect get a way from city life. With so many beaches and small isolated bays it is usually possible to find a beach to yourself!

For more information about our location and local attractions there is a list of links at the bottom of this page.

We have a brand new theatre just opened on Swansea High just opened on Swansea High Street.  (25 minutes walk or a few minutes by car/taxi from Hotel). This is a great addition to Swansea theatre scene. It is small theatre and the audience are seated very close to the performers which gives the shows a superb atmosphere and we highly recommend it. Swansea already have the Grand theatre, Dylan Thomas theatre and The Taliesin centre. So there is always something worth seeing to suite all tastes.

You might even be lucky enough to see the filming of Dr Who. These photographs were
taken by a guest who was attending the annual Dr Who convention which is held in Swansea (usually in October). She stayed a couple of extra days to visit the Gower and stumbled across them filming in Rhossili. Russell Davis writer/director lives in Swansea and uses the area for filming.

A new open top bus service between Swansea City Centre and Bracelet Bay will run throughout the summer, beginning on Sunday 29 May and operating up until 10 September, operated by First Cymru. This service passes along the sea front right in front of our hotel enjoying the great views across Swansea bay fromthe city centre to a number of key destinations, for instance Blackpill Lido, Oystermouth, Mumbles and Bracelet Bay.Customers will be able to enjoy unlimited travel on the bus for just £4 a day, using the FirstDay Swansea City ticket, which also allows travel on the same day in the area bounded by the following places: Jersey Marine Village, Bowen Arms, Birchgrove, Ynysforgan Roundabout, Morriston Hospital , Penllergaer Roundabout, Gorseinon Bus Station and Loughor (Ship & Castle).

Travelling by open top bus is a great way to enjoy the stunning scenery and makes the journey part of the day out. There is not a better way of getting to and from places such as Mumbles' Bracelet Beach or the Blackpill while taking in the spectacular views as you by. For more information about Service 1 (the beach bus) or to view or download timetables for it, log onto www.firstgroup.com/cymru. Adult FirstDay Swansea City tickets cost £4 each.
